NHS Atlas of Variation launched

26 November 2010

The NHS Atlas of Variation has been launched at the NHS National Medical Directors conference.

The Atlas highlights examples of unexplained variations in activity, value and equity.

The aim is to stimulate a search for unwarranted variation in healthcare and action to address the causes and drivers of that variation.

It is available online in high resolution and low resolution or as a hard copy (while stocks last) from http://www.rightcare.nhs.uk/atlas/index.html

An interactive online version of the Atlas will be available in the New Year, using updated datasets and adding new examples of variation.
