Publication of Codes of Practice on Employment, Equal Pay, and Services, Public Functions and Associations

The Equality and Human Rights Commission has published Codes of Practice which explain the new statutory provisions of the Equality Act.

These Codes will help to ensure that the law is applied consistently by lower courts and tribunals and will also help make the law accessible to a wider audience, such as those who have obligations and those who have rights - or their representatives.

The new Codes will replace the Codes of Practice issued under previous discrimination legislation and should come into place by the end of February, depending on the parliamentary processes needed to revoke the earlier Codes.
